UPI Held Closing Ceremony of SEA-Teacher Project Batch 5

Thursday, February 15 Office of Education and International Affairs held a closing ceremony of the SEA-Teacher Program in the Isola building. The closing ceremony was attended by vice rectors of student affairs, mentors from practiced schools, 9 SEA-Teacher students from the Philippines, 4 SEA-Teacher from Thailand and OIER staff and intern.

The event starts at 1 pm in the conference room of the Isola building. The event was opened by the vice rector of the academic field, Dr. H. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd, M.A. he asked the participants of the Sea Teacher Project not to forget Indonesia, especially Bandung and UPI. He also told the sea teachers to share their good experiences in Indonesia with their friends and family.

Then the event continued with speech from 3 representative of sea teacher project participants. first speech delivered by Nurcahyaning from Thailand. She said that she was very grateful to have been given the opportunity to visit her father’s fatherland who is Indonesian and get a chance to fight for one of her dreams (teaching). She said that she was very happy during his stay in Indonesia. She was grateful to have got the opportunity to visit some tourist attractions in Bandung such as Kawah Putih, Gunung Tangkuban Perahu and others.

Gwen, from Philippines, delivered the second speech in the closing ceremony. She said that she got a lot of experience and she also said that the experience makes her and her friends wants to stay. Kim who is also a representative from the Philippines. He is grateful to run teaching practice in Bandung and know many foreign students in UPI. He said that interacting with foreign students is very important for him, to get to know the culture of other countries, so he can know his culture deeper.

The event was closed by giving souvenir from UPI for the participants of The Sea Teacher project. After giving souvenirs all the attendees of the closing ceremony of The Sea Teacher project do a photo together in front of Isola building. (Febri)
